This blog is first and foremost a place for me to keep notes on the subject of human-computer interaction. I don't know that I will get to the point of composing posts in a manner that other people will want to read, but maybe in the future. For my graduate program, I have a general idea of what I think I want my research subject to be, although I'm aware that these things can shift over time. I may also end up becoming involved in an as-yet unforeseen project that will change my research direction significantly. At the moment, I think I will focus on the subject of attention and/or distraction as they relate to the use or design of computer systems. I have a more narrow topic for which I was using specific key words and phrases but, as I will explain, I have abandoned that specificity for now.
